All children must be supervised during library visits and should not be left unattended. Children of any age may not be left at the library for childcare or babysitting purposes. The Library is committed to creating a child-safe environment that promotes learning and enjoyment. In the scope of their employment, Library staff and volunteers will promote children's wellbeing and protect them from harm. To this end, they will be available to listen or notice the effects of harm, offer parents/guardians support, ask for help and/or act if they suspect abuse, and stop child abuse before it starts by taking measures to protect children. People in the library building who are not engaged in reading, studying or using library materials may be asked to modify their behaviour. If modifications are not made, they may be requested to leave the premises. If these requests have to be repeated, the police will be called. Library users are expected to abide by the following:
